The Next Paradigm Coin
James Altucher:
The Next Bitcoin—But for AI
I’m starting a new podcast called The TAO Pod—and no, it’s not about Eastern philosophy or meditation. TAO stands for Bittensor, the decentralized AI network nobody is talking about. Yet. The first episode just released: “Will Bittensor Be Bigger Than Bitcoin?”
So what is Bittensor? It’s a decentralized AI network. Think of it like Bitcoin. Except instead of just securing transactions, Bittensor incentivizes people around the world to provide things like compute power, AI models, training data, and even agents.
BitTensor turns all the raw ingredients of AI—GPUs, data, models, training tasks—into digital commodities. Anyone can supply them. Anyone can use them. And everyone gets rewarded based on how useful they are.
It’s Uber for AI compute. YouTube for data. AWS for open-source intelligence. And here’s the crazy part: one subnet, Shoots, is already serving 150 billion tokens per day.
So, I sat down with Joseph Jacks — one of the smartest people I’ve ever spoken to about this — and we tried to answer a simple but mind-blowing question:
Is Bittensor the New Internet?

TSMC Profit Surges 61% to Record High Fueled by AI Chip Demand
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company on Thursday reported a near 61% year-on-year rise in second-quarter profit, hitting a record high and beating estimates, as demand for artificial intelligence chips stayed strong.
The world’s largest contract chip manufacturer forecast third-quarter revenue between $31.8 billion and $33.0 billion — a 38% year-over-year increase and 8% higher from the prior quarter at the midpoint.
TSMC CEO C.C. Wei said in the earnings call that the company expects its full-year 2025 revenue to rise by around 30% in U.S. dollar terms, supported by growth in artificial intelligence and demand for its most advanced technologies.
TSMC’s high-performance computing (HPC) division, which encompasses artificial intelligence and 5G applications, drove second quarter sales, contributing 60% of revenue. That share of HPC revenue was up from 52% in the same period last year.

Crypto Week Day 4: U.S. Lawmakers Remain Divided on Key Bills
As day four of “Crypto Week” kicks off, U.S. Democratic and Republican lawmakers remain divided on the future of key legislation that will shape the country's regulatory approach to digital assets.
Votes were anticipated on the Clarity Act, the GENIUS stablecoin bill and the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act, but progress has been slowed by political gridlock on amendments, including proposals to bar government officials from trading cryptocurrencies.
The fourth day of the so-called Crypto Week started Thursday with U.S. lawmakers in the House of Representatives debating consumer protections, anti-money laundering provisions, the development of a central bank digital currency, banking protections and preventing conflicts of interest in the executive branch.
Barring the executive branch from issuing, endorsing and promoting cryptocurrencies has become a major pain point for Democratic lawmakers, who initially supported comprehensive digital asset regulation. The loss of Democratic support could threaten the passage of the bills or force concessions that are unfavorable to the crypto industry.
