The Great Bitcoin Fire

James Altucher:

Los Angeles in Flames: When Cryptos Also Go Up In Smoke

The tragedy in Los Angeles has consumed much more than hectares of forest. Among the losses, crypto investors, already burned by market fluctuations, find themselves ruined this time by a very real enemy: fire.

The numbers are chilling: 15,000 hectares of land reduced to ashes, 200,000 residents evacuated, and crypto companies like BlockDaemon and SuperVerse hit hard.

This disaster highlights the crucial importance of digital security. Hardware wallets, like those from Ledger, protect against hackers – but what to do against flames? Storing recovery phrases elsewhere and keeping external backup could have saved these assets.

This sad episode serves as a brutal reminder: investing in crypto is not just about avoiding scams, but also about being prepared for the unexpected.

But… while I’m waiting for my replacement books to arrive, someone else is already designing that future.

Today, I wanted to dive deeper into one of those surprises.

In my view, the stock market will be up again in 2025 – either by a lot or by a little – but NOT down, like many anticipate. Allow me to explain.
