The Bitcoin Killer

Ari Goldschmidt:

AI-Infused Blockchain Ambient to 'Replace Bitcoin,' Says Co-Founder

A new artificial intelligence-infused blockchain with Andreseen Horowitz's backing is "ultimately designed as a replacement for Bitcoin," according to its co-founder Travis Good.

The far-fetched claim is rooted in what Good prognosticates as unvarnished reality: Bitcoin's encryption mechanisms are "getting really stale" and could be "completely obsolete within five years," creating a business conundrum for the miners behind it.

"You've got people who've invested billions of dollars in hash power for securing a network in ASICs," he told CoinDesk at this year's ethDenver conference. "And the question is like, where do they all go?"

His answer is Ambient, a blockchain with deep capabilities in the AI space – the "future economy," as Good puts it – that could become a "decentralized competitor to OpenAI." The network operates on a proof-of-work mechanism with familiar appeal to bitcoin miners, he said, making it an easy switch.

Fidelity Launches Zero-Fee Crypto IRAs for Bitcoin, Ethereum & Litecoin

Fidelity Investments has launched a new offering that allows U.S. investors to include cryptocurrencies in their retirement planning.

The financial services giant now provides individual retirement accounts (IRAs) with direct exposure to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin, expanding the company’s growing involvement in digital assets.

The new product, called “Fidelity Crypto IRA,” is available to US citizens over 18 who live in states where Fidelity Digital Assets supports crypto IRAs. The launch represents a major step in bringing cryptocurrency investments into mainstream retirement planning.

Investors can choose from three different IRA structures: a tax-free Roth IRA, which allows investors to contribute with already-taxed income; a traditional IRA, where contributions may be tax-deductible; or a Rollover IRA.

Chris Campbell:

Meth, Liberation Day, and AI

Throughout my 20s, I downloaded every productivity app I could find. I bought the journals, the gadgets, the $300 minimalist backpacks that claimed to optimize my life. I’ve tried 100+ tools. Not a metaphor. I actually counted. Every one of them promised to “change my life.”

But it wasn’t until AI hit full speed that the promise of a changed life became true. That’s when I was finally freed from the endless cycle of writing notes I’d never read, bookmarking articles I’d never revisit, and pretending that a better to-do list would fix my existential dread.

I now use three AI tools every single day to liberate my mind: Voice ChatGPT, to get my best ideas as I rant at my phone; Relay, to act as my invisible intern; and Google Notebook LM, for when I want answers and insights about my own thinking.

I'm sure there are other amazing AI tools out there I have yet to find. And there are new tools released every day, so my list could change. But right now, that’s my daily AI stack.
