Please Approach the Bench

Chris Campbell:

Judge Allows Simulation of Alleged Crime as Evidence

A judge in Florida has allowed a virtual reality simulation to be submitted as evidence during a case over aggravated assault in 2023. It might be the first time the defense in any criminal court hearing in the country has been permitted to introduce VR into evidence.

The defense attorney in the case, Ken Padowitz, commissioned an artist to concoct a simulation of the incident for the Oculus Quest 2 and Broward County Judge Andrew Siegel will allow it to be introduced at trial.

The idea is to give everyone in the courtroom the perspective of defendant Miguel Albisu, who owns a wedding venue in Florida and was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly waving a gun at guests during an altercation.

“We put headsets on the judge, the prosecutors, and the witness and the judge was able to see from my client’s own eyes, from his own perspective,” Padowitz says.

Could this practice become the norm when it comes to the future of criminal defense?

These Two Mistakes Cost Me $1 Million

When it comes to playing the markets, the real pain sometimes comes not from the trades you take, but the ones you don’t. I’ve spent years learning this the hard way.

March 2020 was a prime example. A couple of small, seemingly harmless mistakes — decisions that most people would make and ones that felt cautious at the time — ended up costing me more than I care to admit. In fact, if I’d acted differently, the gains could have totaled seven figures.

Today, I’m walking you through two trades — two gut-wrenching missed opportunities I’ve analyzed again and again. I’ve learned from them. And I want you to have the same chance to learn these lessons.

Because when markets roar higher, the real risk isn’t losing money… It’s not making enough.

Why Trump Wants Greenland

Trump just announced AGAIN that he wants to buy the island of Greenland from Denmark. At first, I thought he was nuts.

Greenland is brutal. It struggles with the highest suicide rate on the planet. Alcoholism and depression are off the charts. Winters are long, dark, and harsh, and ironically, in the short summers (with 24 hours of sunlight), nobody can sleep.

Is Trump nuts? Or is this the smartest geopolitical move on the planet? Maybe both?

Let’s look at the details… and why this might be a smart move. (Hint: apparently this big island of ice may hold the key to our entire global supply chain.)
