One LLM To Rule Them All
James Altucher:
OpenAI Is Launching GPT-5 This Summer
OpenAI has confirmed that GPT-5, the long-awaited new AI model, will be available this summer. According to CEO Sam Altman, the model will be a combination of all previous innovations: a single powerful system that can handle text, images, audio, and possibly even video.
The announcement came during OpenAI’s first official podcast episode, in which Altman casually mentioned that the launch is likely to take place sometime this summer. This comes after months of speculation and anticipation within the AI community.
Where ChatGPT users currently have to choose different models for specific tasks, such as GPT-4o for text, DALL·E for images, or the fast GPT-4o for multimodal interaction, GPT-5 brings everything together in a single, unified interface. This also eliminates the need for a so-called model selector.
Romain Huet, Head of Developer Experience at OpenAI, previously stated that with GPT-5, the company is combining the best elements of existing models. The goal is a fundamentally new AI system that is more powerful. It is also simpler and more consistent to use.

A Reignited Trump-Musk Feud Burns Tesla Investors, Shares of EV Company Tumble 8%
Shares of Tesla tumbled 8% at the opening bell Monday as the feud between CEO Elon Musk and Trump reignited over the weekend.
Musk, once a top donor and ally of Trump, announced that he was forming a third political party in protest over the Republican spending bill that passed late last week. Musk has been highly critical of the bill, which he said would kill jobs and bog down burgeoning industries.
In a social media post on Sunday, Trump said that the billionaire owner of SpaceX, Tesla and X had gone “off the rails” in recent weeks.
Investors fear that Musk’s companies, which receive significant subsidies from the federal government, could suffer further if his feud with Trump continues to fester.

Isomorphic Labs Prepares To Launch Trials for AI-Designed Drugs
Alphabet's AI drug development subsidiary Isomorphic Labs is aiming to initiate clinical trials for its AI-developed oncology drugs.
In an interview with Fortune, Isomorphic Labs president Colin Murdoch shared that four years after its founding, the company is preparing to dose the first patients in clinical trials. He added that the business is “staffing up” ahead of the trials.
Isomorphic previously said it is planning to advance oncology candidates to clinical trials first, something that Murdoch confirmed in the interview with Fortune; however, the AlphaFold system can develop drugs beyond oncology indications.
Isomorphic co-developed AlphaFold 3 with Google DeepMind, an AI model that can accurately predict complex protein structures and molecular interactions. AlphaFold was developed by John Jumper and Demis Hassabis, who won the Nobel Prize in 2024.
Isomorphic Labs has been working on other AI models to help design new therapies.
