Elon's Quiet AI Winner
Chris Campbell:
Elon's $18 Billion "Oopsie"
Grok can't out-code Claude. In fact, Elon's chatbot trails on all important leaderboards. It sits third in consumer share and barely registers in enterprise – where Anthropic now commands 40% of spending.
But here's the part nobody saw coming: Grok's failure made Elon richer than its success ever could have. Because while Grok fights uphill, the machine underneath it became the hottest rental property in the history of capitalism.
Anthropic – the company beating Grok in enterprise – signed a deal to rent the entire original Colossus site. Around $1.25 billion a month. Roughly $15 billion a year. Then they expanded into Colossus 2 a few weeks later.
Google – which owns more compute than nearly anyone alive – came knocking next. $920 million a month through mid-2029. About $30 billion all-in. Google. Renting chips. From Elon.
Add it up: over $2 billion a month flowing into SpaceX from rivals whose AI models are beating Grok's brains out. That's more than SpaceX's entire revenue last year. Every launch. Every Starlink subscription. Combined.
The punchline: Elon's rivals pay him a fortune to keep beating him and he's happy to see it. The product lost. The landlord won anyway.

SpaceX Is Set To Acquire 130,000 Acres of Marshland in Southern Louisiana
SpaceX and the state of Louisiana are close to finalizing a deal for the launch company to acquire about 130,000 acres along the northern coast of the Gulf of Mexico.
There have been persistent rumors about such an agreement for months, but now The Times-Picayune reports that Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry is expected to announce the agreement later this month.
The deal would give SpaceX control of an 18-mile stretch of marshland southwest of Lafayette. The site, known as Pecan Island, became available as part of a legal settlement that resolves dozens of lawsuits that blame ExxonMobil for pollution and coastal land loss, the newspaper reports.
No Louisiana officials publicly commented on the deal. Nor did SpaceX. In May, however, the company said in response to rumors about the Louisiana site on X, "It's no secret that we intend to launch Starship a lot, targeting thousands of flights per year. That cadence will require the ability to launch from many different locations, so we are constantly exploring to find viable sites to expand Starship operations in the future, both domestically and internationally."

James Altucher:
MouthPad Turns Your Tongue Into a Wireless Trackpad
San Francisco-based company Augmental Technologies is creating a device that helps people with limited mobility interact with computers more easily. The team spent years developing a mouse that can be controlled with your mouth.
The device, called MouthPad, is now available to the general public. MouthPad is a touchpad that sits over the upper teeth like a slim dental retainer and is controlled with the tip of the tongue. According to Augmental, it doesn't affect speech and can be comfortably worn for extended periods, with tests suggesting up to 10 hours. MouthPad is wireless, connects to devices via Bluetooth, and is compatible with all major operating systems.
By moving the tongue across the touchpad, users can also scroll, click, and swipe just like they would on a traditional laptop touchpad. A companion app allows users to customize cursor mode, click strength, touch sensitivity, cursor speed, and scroll speed.
MouthPad is just the first of several assistive devices Augmental has been working on. Another project is called Vox. The creators call it an "invisible keyboard," and it's basically a wearable microphone designed to capture speech through vibrations of the skin.
