Claude's Tell-Tale Text
Chris Campbell:
Anthropic Just Rolled Out a Tool That Could Decimate Some People’s Dreams of Writing AI Novels Undetected
It's going to get a lot harder to let Claude be a ghostwriter for everything from novels to homework.
On Monday, Anthropic said new Claude models will embed an "imperceptible watermark" directly into AI-generated text. The watermark doesn't change the text's meaning or readability, but travels with it when copied and pasted and "may persist through some editing," the AI lab said.
A watermark is a faint pattern or text embedded into photos or digital documents to help prove ownership and stop people from copying or stealing a piece of work.
The move is part of Anthropic's commitments toward more transparency under the European Union AI Act. Claude models launched on or after August 2 will support marking from launch, and Anthropic says it's working on adding the function to older models. The markings apply to content produced by Claude worldwide, including when Claude is accessed through cloud providers. Anthropic said it also plans to provide third parties with tools to detect them.
AI watermarking could be a turning point for the publishing industry, which has been grappling with AI-generated content.

James Altucher:
The Worst Call I Ever Made
Last week, I was at the Proof of Talk conference in Paris when an interviewer named Anna Tutova reminded me of the worst call I ever made: I called Bitcoin a scam back in 2013. (Only months later, I realized Bitcoin might be the most amazing thing I'd ever seen in finance.)
Here’s the lesson I learned back then: When something sounds insane, that's exactly when you should sit down with the smartest person you know and let them draw on a whiteboard.
In fact, that’s exactly why I went to Paris in the first place. I wanted to talk to some of the smartest people in the world about the most insane idea in AI. Because here's what else I told Anna in Paris: Centralized wins the sprint. Decentralized wins the war.
Anthropic just raised $65 billion. OpenAI will raise $100 billion. But what happens when the models keep getting bigger? You can't raise a trillion dollars. At some point the math breaks.
Decentralized networks don't have that problem. People all over the world contribute. The network compounds while the centralized players hit walls. This is how the internet evolved.
AI is next. And the leader in decentralized AI, by far, is Bittensor – TAO. TAO trades around $300. I said on camera: $3,000 by year-end. Long term, $50,000 to $100,000.

Enrique Abetya:
The $900M Humanoid Robot IPO
Yesterday, a Chinese company most Americans have probably never heard of took a major step onto the public markets. Unitree Robotics debuted on the Shanghai Stock Exchange after pricing an initial public offering that sought to raise roughly $900 million and values the company at about $9 billion.
Normally, the IPO of a relatively small Chinese technology company shouldn't warrant much attention from American investors. But this one does.
Unitree makes humanoid robots, and its arrival on the public markets comes as several important developments are beginning to converge.
China is rapidly scaling humanoid production, Tesla is building dedicated manufacturing capacity for Optimus, new investment vehicles are giving investors exposure to physical AI, and the U.S. government is already treating advanced robotics as a matter of national security.
Put those pieces together, and I think we're witnessing an important transition. After decades of prototypes, science fiction, and promises about the robots of tomorrow, the industry is beginning to scale today.
From here, I'll be watching closely to see where this rapidly emerging industry takes us, and I'll keep you informed every step of the way.
