AI's Call of the Wild

James Altucher:

Can AI Help Humans Understand Animals?

Peeps trickle out of a soundproof chamber as its door opens. Female zebra finches are chattering away inside the microphone-lined box. The laboratory room sounds like a chorus of squeaky toys.

“They’re probably talking about us a little bit,” says McGill University postdoctoral fellow Logan James.

It’s unclear, of course, what they are saying. But James believes he is getting closer to deciphering their vocalizations through a partnership with the Earth Species Project. The project hopes to decode other creatures’ communications with its pioneering artificial intelligence tools.

On top of breakthroughs in animal language, it expects improved interspecies understanding will foster greater appreciation for the planet in the face of climate change. "Rudimentary dictionaries” for other animals are not only possible but could help craft better conservation strategies and reconnect humanity with often forgotten ecosystems.

Bitcoin Defies the Drawdown

Renewed inflation fears gave speculators the perfect excuse to sell their stocks over the past six weeks.

Of course, everyone’s probably getting way too bearish right now. Santa failed to show, January is off to a back-and-forth start, and sellers have knocked a lot of air out of the frothiest stocks that were screaming higher during the fourth quarter.

As stocks began to recover following favorable inflation data earlier this week, I’m sure there’s one question on your mind: What should I look to buy in this choppy market?

Many of the popular stocks that folks were trading back in November might need more time to set up for fresh trades. But there is one asset that’s ripe for another strong rally: Bitcoin. Here are three reasons why Bitcoin is set to rise and quickly break above its December highs.

The Man Who Hated Kennedy

"Boom goes the dynamite." Not exactly what you expect to hear in a serious discussion about JFK, but that’s how Brad Meltzer, author of The JFK Conspiracy, described one of the most chilling assassination plots you’ve probably never heard of.

It nearly ended JFK’s life before he ever set foot in the Oval Office. First, a disgruntled ex-postal worker named Richard Pavlik rigged his car with dynamite. Then he parked outside Kennedy’s Palm Beach home and waited for the perfect moment to strike.

It’s the kind of story you’d dismiss as impossible… until you get hit with the evidence.

Join me to hear the story you should've been taught in history class.
